NFFS Announces the Mary & Louis Iannettoni Memorial Scholarship Fund
Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society (NFFS) is proud to announce that its scholarship program is now officially named the Mary & Louis Iannettoni Memorial Scholarship Fund, honoring two remarkable leaders whose legacy continues to inspire the metal casting community. Along with the naming, the program has been updated to create stronger connections between students, incumbent workers, and NFFS member companies while supporting the next generation of professionals in the industry.
A Scholarship That Connects Students to Industry
The updated scholarship now requires each applicant to include a recommendation letter from an NFFS member company. This ensures that recipients are directly connected to the NFFS community—whether as current employees, interns, or students mentored by a member company. By establishing these connections, NFFS helps students gain mentorship, exposure, and pathways to rewarding careers in non-ferrous foundries. These changes also provide direct benefits for NFFS members, who can identify, mentor, and develop emerging talent while helping ensure a skilled future workforce.
Honoring the Legacy of Mary & Louis Iannettoni
Louis Iannettoni, a Michigan Tech graduate and metallurgical engineer, built a distinguished career in non-ferrous casting, including leadership at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Lockport Non-Ferrous Castings, and Meloon Foundries. As a past president of NFFS, he was instrumental in guiding the association through challenging times. Mary Iannettoni was known for her generosity and commitment to her community. Together, they exemplify leadership, service, and dedication—values that continue to shape this scholarship program.
