Hurricane Ian Forces Cancellation of 2022 NFFS Industry Executive Conference

Posted By: Jerrod Weaver NFFS,

Flooding in Florida after Hurricane IanLast week, the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 NFFS Industry Executive Conference, which was scheduled to take place on October 15-17, 2022, at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village. This decision was made after consultation with the Westin Cape Coral, when it was determined that the hotel would be unable to provide the facilities needed to host the conference. Hurricane Ian has severely impacted the Gulf Coast of Florida and hit particularly hard the communities of Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

The 2022 IEC had already been rescheduled from its original planned date in February 2022, when the resurgence of COVID across the U.S. made it unsafe to travel and meet in large groups.

NFFS will cancel all hotel reservations made as a part of our room block on behalf of IEC attendees. In addition, NFFS will issue refunds for all sponsorship contributions, meeting registration fees, and optional activity fees (golf tournament, club rental, and shelling tour) paid by attendees. Due to the large number of refunds that need to be processed, please allow 5-10 business days for the processing of your refund. If you have not received an expected refund by Friday, October 14, please contact NFFS at (847) 299-0950 so we can look into it.

Thank you for your support of NFFS and its Industry Executive Conference. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to meet, congregate and address the issues affecting our membership and our industry. If you have any questions, please contact Jerrod Weaver, Executive Director, at (847) 299-0950 or jerrod@nffs.org. Be sure to check the NFFS website for an announcement regarding the 2023 Industry Executive Conference coming soon!
