Foundry Automation, Integration and Robotics Working Group Meeting

The next NFFS Foundry Automation, Integration and Robotics (FAIR) Working Group meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Guest speaker Jerry Thiel of the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) will provide an overview of Industry 4.0 technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), automation process control, and will discuss the use of robotics in non-ferrous casting finishing operations. The FAIR WG will also review its plans for a week-long robotics training course at UNI in March 2023. This training course will include both classroom instruction and lab activity covering topics from an introduction to robotics all the way up to the use of Robot Studio to actually program robots to automate many common activities in the non-ferrous foundry. Registration is free and open to all NFFS member foundries.
