fire with sparks inside a dark buildingThe non-ferrous foundry industry has seen several significant fires and emergencies in recent weeks including the fire and explosion at I. Schumann & Company in Bedford, Ohio, and a recent fire at Reliable Castings in Cincinatti. While non-ferrous foundries are deeply concerned about employee health and safety, molten metal presents a risk profile that must be considered and plans must be developed that instruct your staff how to respond in the case of an emergency.

In response, the Non-Ferrous Founders' Society is holding a Workplace Emergency Planning webinar on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm ET. This one-hour webinar will help you to develop a Workplace Emergency Plan that is tailored your specific facility. You will learn about a wide variety of tools to help you identify potential workplace emergencies, strategies for developing reaction plans, and techniques to reinforce emergency preparedness among your workforce. Properly implemented, these strategies and techniques will help you to respond quickly, efficiently, and effectively when disaster strikes.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How to identify potential internal and external emergencies
  • How to identify your risk of natural disasters
  • Emergency planning and response
  • Emergency equipment and communication
  • Emergency evacuation plans
  • OSHA-mandated written programs
