Call for Volunteers

Would you or someone at your company like the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, develop valuable skills, gain unique experience, and make lasting connections with other passionate and motivated foundry leaders? Volunteering with the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society (NFFS)—whether on the Board of Directors or through one of our operating committees—offers a chance not only to shape the programs and services that benefit members today, but also to help advance the foundry industry and ensure its future strength. For those in the early or middle stages of their careers, service provides valuable leadership experience and networking opportunities, while seasoned professionals have a unique opportunity to give back to the industry that has supported their own careers.

Board of Directors

Serving on the NFFS Board of Directors offers a rare chance to help shape the future of our association and industry. Board members play a vital role in guiding NFFS programs and services, strengthening our community, and advancing the success of nonferrous foundries. Benefits of board service include expanding your professional network, enhancing your leadership skills, and gaining recognition from your peers, employer, and industry.

Board members are elected for a three-year term. Responsibilities include providing leadership under the Society’s vision and strategic plan, assuming responsibility for current year activities, attending three Board meetings annually, and active participation on at least one NFFS committee. The upcoming term will begin on February 23, 2025, when officers and directors are formally elected by the membership at the Society’s Annual Meeting.

Committees

In addition to board service, NFFS committees offer another meaningful way to contribute to the Society’s mission. Committees are where much of the Society’s important work takes place—developing programs, planning events, and ensuring members receive maximum value from NFFS. Opportunities exist to serve on committees focused on government affairs, workforce development, technical and regulatory issues, membership and communications, and finance.

Committee service is an excellent option for members who want to contribute without the longer commitment of board service, and it provides a valuable stepping stone for those considering future board involvement.
