NFFS Heat Stress Webinar Recap
On Tuesday, July 8, the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society hosted its monthly safety webinar titled Heat Stress in the Foundry Environment. The session was led by Martha Guimond of Joseph A. Guimond and Associates, and provided timely, practical guidance for foundry operators and employees facing heat-related hazards during the summer months.
With millions of U.S. workers exposed to dangerous heat on the job each year, the webinar focused on understanding the signs of heat-related illness, strategies for prevention, and OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (NEP) on heat. The presentation included regulatory updates, inspection triggers, acclimatization protocols, and emergency response planning tailored to foundry environments.
This important training is part of NFFS’s ongoing commitment to workforce safety and is available to members at no cost.
