Celebrating 75 Years of Service

This year, NFFS celebrates its 75th anniversary, and we have decided to make the annual meeting special at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort & Spa, a beautiful venue in Puerto Rico. Jerrod and Kristie have recently visited the site and found the place spectacular and ready for our meeting. This will be a special and memorable event. The hardest thing for any of us running a casting business is getting time away from the operation. Consciously or subliminally our minds ponder whether the benefits of the meeting will outweigh both the monetary cost and the opportunity cost of taking time away from our companies. I think the value proposition is heavily tilted towards attending the meeting. The last few meetings have been special and great, but for the anniversary event, Jerrod, Kristie and the program committee have pulled out all the stops! We will have fantastic content with top notch speakers. I assure you that you will take back ideas that you can apply directly to your company.

This is your organization, and it is built to serve the needs of people like you and companies like yours. NFFS helps our company directly by keeping up with industry topics, trends and technology. NFFS also helps us keep up with regulatory requirements and also speaks for us in the regulatory process where our voices are better heard collectively.

The first IEC I attended was in 1991 in Monterrey. That trip convinced me that the annual meeting had real value. I found the meeting’s content engaging and found a valuable long term resource in Skip and Martha Guimond. Moreover, there was networking with industry leaders I had not yet met in my five years in the bronze business with the Flaherty family. I met over 20 people with whom I still have close business ties as either customer or vendor. In fact, at that meeting we met Tom Kwiatkowski (TK) and his wife Sharon in person for the first time. Sixteen years later TK and the other Bunting owners brought me into the Bunting to help TK transition out of full time work. How can I put a price on the value of the contacts made?

It is my pleasure to invite you to this years’ special IEC. Come give it a try bring back something new and useful to your company. There will be time for networking and we will have fun as well. My wife Sue and I look forward to seeing you there!
