The ISO9000 quality standard is the most popular quality standard ever published. Most customer industries now require ISO9000 registration from their vendors, including the federal government. However, every few years the ISO9000 standard must undergo a review and revision process to ensure it's continuing suitability and effectiveness. ISO9000 has recently completed such a review, resulting in a new revision that is substantially different than the previous standard.
With the publication of the new standard ISO9001:2000 on December 13, 2000, metal casters that have or are considering ISO9000 based quality systems will face serious challenges in interpreting and meeting the new requirements. The NQS9000 program was developed by the casting industry to assist the foundry with understanding these new requirements and to provide an industry best-practices approach to meeting the new standard requirements in the most efficient and cost effective method possible.
The NQS9000 program is available in both ISO9001:1994 and ISO9001:2000 editions. Special upgrade programs for existing ISO9001:1994 registered metal casters that want to make the transition to ISO9001:2000 are also available. For further information, please explore the program content below.

FFS guarantees that all NQS9000 enrolled metal casters will pass an ISO9001:1994 or ISO9001:2000 QMS registration audit on their first attempt, provided that the client allows NFFS to conduct the pre-audit and the client resolves any discovered non-conformances. If an audit failure does occur, NFFS will pay for the follow-up audit(s) necessary to achieve ISO9001 registration. Guarantee is valid for any U.S. RAB accredited QMS registrar, and for NFFS's Quality System Registrar (NQSR).
