When you decide to join the Non-Ferrous Founder’s Society,
you’re really taking the first step on the path to information & services designed to help your foundry:

Effective Government Advocacy
The Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society was formed for the expressed purpose of representing the industry’s concerns to government agencies.  Over the years, names and faces in Washington have changed, but Society’s mission hasn’t.  Time and again, the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society has proven itself as an effective advocate for foundry industry interests and concerns.

Industry Information/Benchmarking -
Learning what’s going on in the industry and how other companies address common problems is an important reason why foundries join NFFS.  In a 2001 Member Satisfaction Survey comparing NFFS to nine other national advocacy and industry service organizations, 100% of NFFS members surveyed said the Society meets their expectations in this regard well or extremely well.

Foundry Safety Training
Foundries have plenty of sources when it comes to providing safety training courses and materials to their employees.  NFFS recognizes the impact that unsafe work practices and training costs can have on your facility’s bottom-line, and provides FREE safety training courses and compliance materials to help YOUR facility work safely, and to improve the overall profitability of the industry.

Regulatory Compliance Assistance Services
In addition to written OSHA compliance templates, members receive an annual compliance calendar that includes useful forms and tips.  NFFS regulatory consultants, Guimond & Associates, are available to assist members with specific regulatory questions or problems (OSHA & EPA) by phone, via a special telephone Hotline established especially for members’ use, or by fax.

New Government Business Opportunities
Working with the American Metalcasting Consortium, NFFS has created a three-pronged program to assist metalcasters interested in increasing their government business opportunities.

Group Health Insurance Savings for Foundries
NFFS is one of five metalworking associations that banded together to create a true association health plan to benefit their members.  Together, they created the Metalworking Manufacturing Coalition (MMC) Trust Insurance Program and partnered with Trustmark Life Insurance Company, a fully insured affinity market leader with over fifty years of association health plan experience.   This arrangement allows the trust to own the surplus of premiums over claims, and the plans three elements - surplus, reduced risk charges, and interest earned – combine to reduce costs and provide future premium savings.

Membership ROI Programs -
NFFS has established several “Members Only” discount programs that provide significant savings on day-to-day business costs for foundries. To see a list of our Affinity Partners and the potential money-saving benefits the ROI NFFS membership includes, click here.

ISO Quality Services
In 1996, NFFS created its award-winning NQS9000 Quality System for Metalcasting to offer a cost effective, industry focused approach to implementing and registering to the ISO standard.  Since then, NQS9000 has been installed in more than 100 metalcasting facilities, and no foundry or diecaster that based its quality management system on the NQS approach has ever failed an ISO registration audit.

Industry-Wide Benefits -
Although NFFS was created to serve the needs and interests of non-ferrous foundries, the majority of its programs and services can now benefit any metalcaster.  Even Iron and Steel foundries can become Associate Members with full membership rights and privileges.  Regardless of process or material, any metalcaster can now enroll as a member of NFFS.
