Foundry Air Contaminants

During the manufacturing process, foundries and die-casters can release potentially hazardous contaminants into the workplace. The types of contaminants potentially emitted is dependant on the materials and processess used to make castings. It is important to protect employees from the hazards presented by these contaminants.

The Non-Ferrous Founders' Society (NFFS), in cooperation with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), has developed a comprehensive Foundry Air Contaminants training course designed specifically for foundry industry professionals. This on-line seminar provieds up-to-date information addressing the full spectrum of air contaminants issues, including:

- Hazard Recognition
- Air Sampling Techinques and Requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Permissible Exposure Levels
- and much more!
