Combustible Dust Standards
Task Group Forming |
We are looking to form a Combustible Dust Standards Task Group to work with the GAC to participate in the process.
NFFS intends to be an active participant in representing member foundries as the proposed new rule is being drafted. We want to make sure OSHA is aware of the issues that foundries face on a daily basis as the new rule is being written.
Most of the activities of the working group will be conducted electronically when possible. It is therefore essential that you provide NFFS with a direct email address for the person who will be responsible for your foundry’s involvement in this effort. It will also be imperative that you act and respond on a timely basis when requested. The primary responsibility for the project will fall under the NFFS GAC.
A special Steering Committee is being established to serve as the primary point of contact for the agency in this regard. The Steering Committee may hold more frequent conference calls or meetings, and may even be asked to send one or more representatives to meet face-to-face with agency personnel as this rulemaking proceeds.
If your foundry wishes to be part of this working group, simply return the enclosed form to NFFS as soon as possible so we can begin working. Be sure to indicate whether you would like to volunteer to serve on the Steering Committee, with the full understanding that all foundries that volunteer to serve at any level will be expected to actively participate, and that your foundry will most likely be subject to the final rule whether or not you volunteer and participate.
