Industry Information and Benchmarking

Information is the lifeblood of any business. NFFS works tirelessly to provide its members with up-to-date information on a wide variety of foundry management related topics. Among the valuable information provided on a regular basis to NFFS members:

  • The Crucible Magazine - The Society's flagship publication is called The Crucible magazine. Published on a bimonthly basis and distributed electronically, it features original management-oriented articles, news from within the metal casting industry, new product developments, and summaries of the important issues confronting non-ferrous foundries.

  • NFFSNotes Newsletter - The society's monthly member bulletin covers hot issues affecting non-ferrous foundries. In addition to monitoring current regulatory and legislative developments in Washington, NFFS Notes provides deadline reminders for Society programs and services, announcements of upcoming industry and Society meetings and seminars, regulatory and legislative notes, as well as general interest information for non-ferrous foundry owners and managers. Since July 2013, NFFS Notes has also been distributed electronically and can now be accessed on any mobile device.

  • Members-Only Electronic Newsletter The NFFS Electronic Newsletter is published twice per month, providing Society members with timely news, information and resources affecting their businesses.

  • Business Trends Barometer Survey - The NFFS Business Trends Barometer is a survey that provides members a month-to-month accurate snapshot of the business levels in the industry.

  • Monthly Economic Newsletter - Provides economic data that is sourced and compiled on a monthly basis to provide members with leading economic indicator trend data and relevant economic news.

  • Government Affairs Issues Updates - Like an early warning radar system, these monthly Issue Updates provide foundry owners with a head-up on new and proposed regulations and legislation likely to affect non-ferrous casting operations. They also offer members a chance to weigh in on those issues as the Society works to minimize their potential impact on non-ferrous foundries.
