Advocacy and Industry Leadership

For over 70 years, NFFS has served as the voice for non-ferrous foundries. NFFS maintains an active program to monitor new legislative and regulatory developments in Washington and to represent non-ferrous foundry interests. Nearly all US non-ferrous foundries have benefited from the Society's efforts in protecting the industry from harmful regulations.

Within the past twelve months alone, the Society filed comments on OSHA’s Proposed Silica Rule that would slash the PEL for silica exposures by 50%, commented on the NFPA’s draft revision to its guidance standard on Combustible Dust, submitted recommendations re: EPA’s planned implementation of the Safe Drinking Water Act amendments that reduced the permissible lead content limit for plumbing products to 0.25%, and met with representatives of the Office of Management & Budget’s Office of Information & Regulatory Affairs concerning revisions to the copper benchmarks in the proposed EPA Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit.

In addition, NFFS creates the ideal networking forums that industry leaders rely on to obtain solutions to their business challenges through peer support. Sharing ideas and experiences with other members is a sure fire strategy to help you get the most out of your business.
